- Trial sessions are the initial meetings between the teachers and students, serving as a way of exchanging introductions.
- Tutors provide a brief teaching demonstration so both parties can decide whether working together is a good fit.
- Trial sessions last for 15 minutes and are free of cost. Students can book trial lessons by:
- Finding a teacher they want to book a trial with.
- On the teacher's detailed information page, they will see a 'Book Free Trial' button.
- Clicking the 'Book Free Trial' button will open the availability calendar, allowing the selection of a date and time for the trial sessions.
- Click 'Book Lesson', which will redirect to the checkout page where you need to 'Confirm Order'. Your trial lesson is then booked.
- The system allows each student to take one trial lesson per teacher.
How do I get BeeTot App?
BeeTot is a progressive web application (PWA), a web site that can be downloaded to your device and used like an app. While a PWA can be used like any regular web page, installing it can provide some advantages. An installed PWA can still be used without an internet connection. It will also appear alongside your other apps for convenient access.
Installing BeeTot App on iOS:
BeeTot PWA can be installed on iOS using the Safari/Chrome web browser. First, navigate to the site in Safari/Chrome. Press the "Share" button and select "Add to Home Screen" from the popup. Lastly, tap "Add" in the top right corner to finish installing BeeTot PWA. It will now be on your home screen.
Installing BeeTot App on Android:
The default Chrome browser is capable of installing BeeTot PWA for Android. First, navigate to the site in Chrome. Press the "three dot" icon in the upper right to open the menu. Select "Add to Home screen." Press the "Add" button in the popup. BeeTot PWA is now installed and available on your home screen.
Is online tutoring available 24/7?
Yes, online tutoring at Beetot is available 24/7, but tutor availability may vary depending on the time zone and location of the tutor. Students should search for tutors based on their availability to find a time that best works for them.
Will I get notifications of messages or lesson bookings?
Yes, tutors and learners will receive emails for messages posted through Beetot, lesson purchases, bookings, or changes to scheduled sessions. Please include info@beetot.com and support@beetot.com in your email safelist to ensure you receive the emails in your inbox.
You may also use Google Calendar in the Account Settings to receive reminders.
Why did I receive an error message on Beetot platform?
We constantly work on and hope to have an error free platform but still there might be times when script or server errors occur. Please write to us at support@beetot.com with a description of the issue and, if possible, include a screenshot and our team of experts will resolve it.
Why did I not receive the verification email?
All users on Beetot have to verify their email addresses. If you did not receive the verification from our system, please try to log in and request for one to be resent. Some users might find the email in their spam/bulk folder. Do contact us if you continue to have trouble verifying your account.
Can I get a refund if I am not satisfied with my online tutoring session?
Yes, Beetot offers a satisfaction guarantee for online tutoring sessions. If you are not satisfied with your session, you can request a refund within 24 hours of the session. We will credit back the amount to your E-Wallet and you can book a session with a new tutor of your choice or we can help you choose a better suited tutor.
What if I need to cancel an online tutoring session?
If you need to cancel an online tutoring session, you can do so up to 24 hours before the scheduled session time. If you cancel within 24 hours of the scheduled session time, you may be charged for the session.

Absolutely! Just fill out our Find Me a Tutor form with your learning requirements, availability, budget, upcoming deadlines and/or any specific learning goals. Our customer success team will help match you with an online tutor that meets your budget and learning style.
How quickly can I expect a response from my online tutor?
Online tutors at Beetot typically respond within a few hours, but response time may vary depending on their availability and timezone. To ensure a fast reply, we recommend sending messages to at least 3-5 tutors at a time and checking the timezone of the tutor you're messaging.
If there is a particular tutor you are interested in, you could send a reminder message or contact Beetot team to relay your message to the tutor.
How do I schedule an online tutoring session?

- Booking a free trial will open the availability calendar of the teacher. Students can then select a date and time from the calendar and confirm the booking.
- To purchase a lesson, students are required to make the payment and further schedule the lesson according to the teacher's availability.
Is there any feature to record audio and video?
i. By using Beetot Platform or Services you acknowledge and consent that all sessions will be recorded for quality and security purposes.
ii. You acknowledge and consent that You will not receive a notification (visual or otherwise) since recording is enabled on all a sessions irrespective.
iii. You acknowledge and consent that the recordings will be stored by Beetot and Beetot can utilise these recordings for any purpose that aligns with the Company’s goals. If the Company decides to use the recordings all personal information such as names, students’ images/video stream, email addresses or any identifiable information will be omitted through editing. Tutors video stream or image may still be shown but contact information will be omitted.
iv. Recordings will be made available to Students for review and better retention of concepts on Students’ request.
v. Recordings will not be available to tutors. Students agree separately not to download, broadcast, or otherwise replicate the meeting recordings in any way. Customer can only access meeting recordings through Customer's account on the Platform.
How can teachers enhance their profiles and make it outstanding?
Teachers can include a YouTube link of their introduction video to make their profiles more attractive. They can also include relevant information about themselves like biography, skills, experience, and languages which also helps in making their profile outstanding.
How do Tutors get Paid?
Tutors should add their PayPal or Payooneer Bank Account details to their account.
1- Payments for each session will be automatically deposited to the Tutor’s E-Wallet within 48 hours of session completion and the Tutor can request a withdrawal by following the withdrawal request procedures.
2- Once a Withdrawal is requested by the Tutor, Payments to Tutors shall be made through their PayPal or Payoneer Accounts See | Payoneer Account |.
3- PayPal payments to tutors are processed on the first business day of the month. A minimum balance of £40 GBP is required before a PayPal payment is initiated. Payments are handled as "Paying for an item or service”. Beetot pays the processing and currency conversion fees as a sender. When a tutor receives money, PayPal charges the tutor fees and deducts the fees from the sent amount. The fees vary from country to country. See Fees | Merchant and Business | PayPal US.
4- Payoneer payments to tutors are also processed on the first business day of the month. A minimum balance of £40 GBP is required before a Payooner payment is initiated. 5- Tutor shall be paid the Hourly Rate listed by the Tutor minus Beetot’s services fees for each hour of tutoring provided and properly invoiced through the platform.
6- Unless otherwise agreed upon in writing with the customer beforehand, the tutor will only be paid for the time spent tutoring. Tutor will not be paid for any time spent getting ready for the services, preparing and/or reviewing homework or projects, editing documents, making lesson plans, reviewing tests, communicating with customers, etc.

Why am I not showing in the tutor listing?
All approved tutors on BeeTot are required to complete their tutor profile, such as selecting courses, languages, setting their rates, updating their availability and submit their certificates before they are listed.
How do I write a good bio?
Your tutor listing is your advertising space so make it eye catching.
1) Do not be shy to flaunt your academic results and related experiences. Write it truthfully and convincingly.
2) You would want to put in ALL your academic accomplishments, including the university that you have attended or are attending.
3) Put forward your strengths and tell students how you are able to help them.
4) Teach courses relevant to your experience and qualifications. Highlight your proficiency for the courses you teach in your bio. Convince students of your capabilities , for example I have a degree in Engineering that gave me strong Problem Solving skills. Whenever possible, include the exam board that you are familiar with.
Students who approach tutors for help are often going to take tests or exams in the future. It is important that tutors are clear with curriculums and syllabi of the courses they teach. For instance, if you are an expert with IELTS exams, write about it. If you are good with AP exams, tell your students which courses they are.
4) Include any relevant work experience that is useful.
5) A video to introduce yourself to learners is very helpful. This will give them a first impression of you and the way you teach. Upload the video to YouTube and insert the link into your profile.
6) Use a profile photo of yourself in a casual setting, preferably smiling. Avoid passport photos which are usually stern and unwelcoming.

Does Beetot provide guidelines, curriculum and material for tutors to teach?
No, Beetot provides the platform with state of the art tools for tutors and students to connect. Most of the time students will bring in their course material they need help with and the tutors have to help with that.
Tutors should keep themselves up to date current course syllabi, discuss with students their requirements, and provide learning material if the student does not have course material.
Why is my tutor application pending?
Beetot receives hundreds of applications everyday making it impossible to reply to each and every applicant. If you do not receive an approval or you are not contacted by Beetot team after two weeks of applying, please consider your application unsuccessful.
Am I an employee of Beetot?
No you are not an employee.
Tutors are Independent Contractors or Sole Proprietors or Freelancers who are not under an employment contract with Beetot and have accepted the Independent Contractors Agreement . It is your responsibility to check your earnings and pay income taxes, if any, to your local government.
Can I use other video conference tool for lessons?
We strongly advise to use Beetots' state of the art online classroom with subject specific tools designed for seamless delivery of lessons. If for any reason you have to use a different tool, please ensure to start and end the session on Beetot platform to be able to invoice the session.
Can I collect payments from students?
Absolutely Not! Beetot is not just a place for tutors to advertise their services. Beetot is a learning platform offering a wide range of services, including state of the art online classroom with subject specific tools, payments processing, scheduling, messaging, and customer assistance for both tutors and students. We anticipate mutual respect and an awareness of the significant expenses associated with running the platform and advertising for students. We would be forced to terminate the independent contractors agreement per our terms and conditions if a tutor is not grateful for the work that Beetot team puts in to find students for you and would prefer to keep all of the session fees rather than pay a small 30% for our services.
How do I offer a trial lesson to my learner?
On the Personal info tab under Account settings toggle "Enable trial lesson" to active to offer a 30 minutes Trial Session. While we recommend a 30 minutes trial for a proper introduction, it is entirely your decision to offer a longer session. Each student is only allowed one free trial with a tutor.

Which courses can I tutor?
You should teach the courses you are good at and describe your proficiency in your bio. Simply adding many subjects into your profile will not get you more students!
Students who approach tutors for help are often going to take tests or exams in the future. It is important that tutors are familiar with courses they offer to teach and highlight in your bio on how do you work with students to succeed in achieving their learning goals.
How do I become an approved tutor to start teaching at BeeTot?
BeeTot will vet through your application. Please include all experience, including education (University and degree awarded/attending), A-Level/College equivalent results, teaching courses and/or work related to teaching.
Usually, an eligible applicant will be approved in-principle, subjected to the completion of your profile with the relevant diplomas or transcripts before you will appear on tutor listing. Tutors who are unable to furnish required information may be rejected.
BeeTot may call you in for an interview/teaching demonstration/assessment before approving your profile to be listed on the platform.
Please ensure you are able to receive emails/messages from us from info@beetot.com and support@beetot.com. Tutors who are not contactable by emails/messages may be removed from the platform.
BeeTot is an International tutoring platform with students of all races from around the globe. Please do not sign up if you do not feel comfortable working with people from different cultures. BeeTot expects all tutors/students to be respectful in all correspondence.
How do I allow students to book a lesson immediately?
Tutors have the option of allowing students to book a lesson immediately or to give a notice of at least 12 or 24 hours before the scheduled time.
On you tutor dashboard go to (Account Settings ---- Personal info ---- Lesson booking buffer time) to update your preferences.
Why is my tutor account deactivated?
Below are a few reasons, but not limited to, a tutor having his/her account deactivated.
1) You couldn't be reached. Tutors who are unreachable or do not respond to emails or texts will be removed. Please add info@beetot.com and support@beetot.com to your email account safelist to make sure you can receive emails from Beetot.
2) You did not substantiate your educational credentials with documentation. As part of our tutor verification procedure, we need official documentation of your educational background.
3) You tried to get pupils to pay you directly. Any instructor attempting to collect money directly from students will be removed from Beetots' list and face legal action for loss of business, per the company's terms and conditions.
4) Your profile photo is missing or is inappropriate. We hope students are able to match a face to their tutors before contacting them. Use a casual smiling photo of yourself. If your account is deactivated because of this reason, please contact us with a proper photo.
5) Your behaviour during lesson was unbecoming of an educator. All tutors are expected to be punctual, professional and polite to their students. Any leave from a session or rescheduling needs must be properly communicated to your student. Should claims from a student constitutes criminal activities, Beetot will not hesitate to report to your local authority for investigation. Beetot reserves the rights to forfeit any earnings to refund to students.
What is the cancellation policy at Beetot?
1) A tutor can request to be credited if a student did not show up for a session. The tutor will be credited on pro rata rates based on the time the tutor stayed in the session waiting.
2) A tutor can request to be credited if a student cancels within two(2) hours before a session start time.
We urge both tutors and students to exercise flexibility whenever possible should there be genuine extenuating circumstances to establish a long lasting relation based on trust and respect.
How much can I earn with Beetot?
Tutors set their own rates and they get to keep 70% of every session conducted. 30% will be used for the running of the Beetot system.
Your tutor E-Wallet will be credited after the completion of each session and you can request to withdraw your funds if more than GBP 40 bi-weekly using the payment methods you have provided.
While tutors get to set their own rates, they have to be within a reasonable sum. Most tutors set between GBP 20-40. To set higher rates, you should have extensive relevant experience and expertise in the course(s) you teach. Beetot reviews tutor profiles, expertise and the rates they demand and will remove tutors who set excessively high rates either for a course level or without relevant expertise and experience.
How do I contact a tutor?
You can contact a tutor directly from their profile. Just write a short message explaining what you need help with and click "Send Message". The tutor will get back to you as soon as they see your message, usually within a day or so. You can then set up a free 15 minute trial lesson (if the tutor allows) or a paid session with the tutor when convinced you have found the right match.
Can I reschedule a lesson if I missed it?
You might miss a session due to a variety of reasons and it is important to communicate to your tutor if you are unable to make to a session. If the reason is not communicated to your tutor prior to the session starting, it is only right that he/she is compensated for the effort in preparing and the time spent waiting for you in the session.
However, it is your tutor's decision whether to grant you a reschedule. If the session has been marked as completed, please contact us and we will help to allow it to be booked again.
Can I get a refund for purchased sessions?
Yes. All purchased sessions are protected by Beetot.
You will get a credit to your student account Wallet for the following -
(a) An unscheduled session is cancelled - 100% refund credit
(b) A scheduled session is cancelled - 100% refund credit
You may use the credit in your Wallet for your next session purchase or contact us for a refund to your mode of payment, except for the following -
(a) A refund cannot be initiated from the payment processor Stripe.com, usually due to payment of more than three months ago.
(b) All sessions that are unused for 6 months (or a length of time currently determined by Beetot, which will not be less than 6 months) has expired.
What should I do if my tutor did not join the session ?
Tutors are usually punctual but at times, there may be unexpected events, such as an accident, a power cut where they are, or some urgent matters that they have to attend to. Please send a message to your tutor to reschedule the session. If you need assistance, simply reach out to us at support@beetot.com
Are the tutors qualified?
All tutors have to provide their qualifications as part of our verification process. Under qualified, applicants are not approve as tutors.
Can I pay my tutor directly?
No, you should not. Beetot cannot ensure the security of your identity if you chose to contact or pay your tutor directly away from the platform. Therefore we strongly advise all students to keep all communication and dealings through the platform. Beetot will not be able intervene and help you in a dispute if a tutor is not contactable after paying him/her directly.
Do unused sessions expire?
As per the Cancellation/Refund Policy of the Terms and Conditions of Beetot. No refund/credit will be provided after 6 months.
Beetot currently allows Wallet credit to be utilized for up to 12 months before expiry.
