I have been part of the tutoring world since my high school days. What began as a way to earn pocket money by tutoring middle school students slowly evolved into a lifelong journey shaped by education, struggle, purpose, and service.
During my undergraduate studies, tutoring helped me support myself financially. When I moved to Georgia Institute of Technology for my Master’s degree on scholarship, I continued tutoring undergraduate students. Although my scholarship covered my education, I wanted to earn extra income to support my parents and younger brothers back home.
Later, I moved to the University of Sheffield on a joint scholarship from the university and The Welding Institute. My tutoring journey continued there as well, where I had the privilege of teaching students across a wide academic spectrum — from GCSE and college students to undergraduate and Master’s students.
What deeply shaped my vision for BeeTot was not only teaching students from different academic backgrounds, but also learning alongside people from different cultures, perspectives, and ways of thinking throughout my own educational journey.
At Georgia Tech and later at the University of Sheffield, I was surrounded by brilliant minds from across the world. I witnessed how students from different countries approached the same problem in entirely different ways. A conversation with a classmate from one culture could completely transform the way you understood a concept. A colleague from another academic background could simplify an idea you had struggled with for weeks.
Those experiences taught me that education is not simply about memorizing information — it is about perspective, connection, adaptability, and understanding.
I realized that every teacher carries something unique beyond qualifications alone:
• a different journey,
• a different worldview,
• a different method of explaining concepts,
• and a different ability to connect with students.
That realization became one of the foundational philosophies behind BeeTot.
BeeTot was created on the belief that students should not be limited by geography when searching for the right mentor. The world is full of exceptional educators whose experiences, cultures, expertise, and teaching styles can profoundly impact a student’s learning journey if given the opportunity to connect.
My own journey across institutions, countries, and cultures showed me the power of global learning, and BeeTot was built to bring that experience to students everywhere.
Even after completing my PhD and returning to Pakistan, I continued teaching many of the students who had spent semesters learning with me until they graduated. Over time, I transitioned into online tutoring, and that experience changed my perspective entirely.
I realized that around me were countless highly talented, deeply knowledgeable, and exceptionally qualified individuals who simply lacked opportunity. Many were experts in their fields, yet they did not have access to platforms where they could share their knowledge with the world.
That realization stayed with me.
Initially, I thought about subcontracting tutoring opportunities to these professionals. But as the idea evolved, I understood that the vision was much bigger than that. What was needed was not just a service, but a platform — a global community where talented educators from around the world could teach, inspire, and transform lives.
And that was the birth of BeeTot.
The name itself carries a deeper meaning.
On the surface, BeeTot sounds like "Be Taught,” reflecting the purpose of learning. But beyond the literal meaning lies the philosophy that defines our vision.
At BeeTot, students are "Bee Tots” — curious learners traveling from flower to flower in search of nectar. Every tutor on the platform represents a unique flower, carrying its own essence:
• a distinct field of expertise,
• a unique life journey,
• a personal teaching style,
• and a different way of connecting with students.
As Bee Tots gather nectar — knowledge, wisdom, perspectives, and experiences — from educators around the globe, they create the rarest and finest honey: true understanding.
BeeTot is not just another tutoring platform.
It is a dream to provide every student with access to world-class learning experiences by connecting them with exceptional educators from across the globe.
It is also a mission to create opportunities for brilliant individuals whose talent deserves recognition and reach.
We believe education is not merely the transfer of information. It is the sharing of perspectives, experiences, mentorship, and human connection.
